First the good— This is a very low profile fixture, which was important for my use. The light output seems very good, and the choice of Kelvin (color) values is a plus.Now the bad— The 'push lever' connection mechanism for the wires is a big negative. It is insecure, and even a #14 wire will put far too much leverage on that little "clip" connection. Yes, they provide a cover to help hold the wires down, but any electrician will strongly disapprove of this method of wire connection. I would guess that this one thing is why there is no UL (Underwriters Laboratory) approval on this light.There IS an acceptable solution to the clip connection— Use a #18 SOLID copper wire, (like the wires in a typical florescent fixture) to clip into the connection, then wire nut that 8" jumper to your house wire. That will keep the leverage on their clip and little cap with tiny screw from ever being a problem, and the #18 wire will hold into the rinky-dink clip much better. At 18 watts, the #18 is plenty of wire size to supply this light.
