I originally ordered a cheaper (about half the price) 2 3/8 inch hole saw for a project I'm working on, but changed my mind after reading the reviews reported by several once read had buyers. The hole saw will fly off the mandrel due to poor construction and/or missing lock nut. I've always been price conscious when it comes to tool options, but I believe in buying quality tools. Safety was very important to me and after visualizing the rotation of a hole saw without my drill it wasn't a simple safety issue and I shouldn't have saved a few bucks if I had to think about wearing Kevlar overalls and gloves and a welding helmet for drilling the holes. I have used Lenox products in the past and have always found them well designed and well worth the extra money. You never have to worry about injury if you use the tool properly. A cheap brand does not meet these criteria. .Melamine cutting left a clean hole and the cut was easy to repeat. is moved with stepped corner slots and a screwdriver. The hole is very clean and left no chips on the supported backing. This is the perfect hole saw for 2" ABS pipe. Note that the shank is not a 1/4" quick change hex. It is larger so will not fit a 1/4" hex chuck. "You get what you pay for."
