First, sound base is extremely easy to set up and has several options to make it work with your TV remote. Took about 10 minutes to get it working, including setting it up to respond to my TV remote volume controls. Secondly, it does everything I want it to do as far as sound quality. I have a long room and sit about 20 feet from the TV, so I don't really get any surround effect but that's not what I got it for. I have a typical big screen with a great picture but terrible sound. This unit has excellent tone and the voice feature makes a huge difference on the shows and movies where the dialogue is difficult to understand. Since I got this unit (about 2 weeks now) I haven't had to go back and replay anything just to decipher what someone said. The sound quality is excellent, with plentiful bass. I'm a person that like a good amount of bass in the movies I watch and this has proven more than adequate. I actually have the bass (+1) turned down a little lower than the treble (+4) setting as it was rumbles the room too much if turned any higher. If anything, I would say that the unit lacks a little on the highs but, as I mentioned, the sound quality is excellent for movie and TV watching, filling the room with clear, powerful and balanced sound even at higher volumes.
