Review on Bell Super Adult Helmet Matte by Pavel Craig

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Cost and weight vs. added protection = unmatched. Take it.

Fantastic helmet, don't even count the cost of this helmet to protect the most important thing you have (your brain). I feel much safer with this helmet on descents than with an open face helmet. Attaching and removing the chin bar can be done with a helmet, but it certainly takes practice. Using gloves with long fingers makes this even more tiring. Practice, practice, practice. Riding style: I track my time with Strava and am more interested in climbing than descending. Because of this, I prefer lightweight gear that is durable and efficient. However, in my 40's my very infrequent encounters with hard terra over the years add up and a little extra protection will mean I can get back on the bike tomorrow if I break. :GoPro mount: very easy to remove as I don't use it. It would be possible to buy an adapter to mount my flashlight, see next line. Helmet flashlight mount (with exposure light mount and "Diablo" light): This was not initially possible as the mount would immobilize the MIPS layer and press onto the outer helmet. I was able to fish out the inside of the exposure lamp helmet mount between the outer shell and the MIPS shell and complete the installation in about 1 minute. Pros of the helmet: Very solid feel, great fit, easy to tuck your chin in your back. my package. The extra weight compared to the extra layer of protection is fantastic. The visor is easily adjustable but doesn't have any special clicks to keep it in place. MIPS adds an extra layer of security by protecting what matters most to you. Replacing the optic Smith " front helmet, also very strong, but without a chin bar. Cons: Difficult to drink with the chin bar without tipping the helmet first. For some reason, when I'm eating, the chin bar liner presses against mine jaw and causes spasms in the jaw (probably atypical).
