Review on K&N Cold Air Intake Kit for 2006-2011 MITSUBISHI Eclipse: High Performance, Guaranteed Horsepower Boost – 69-6502TR by Jake Meyer

Spent more money on K&N because I needed a no compromise solution for my daily driver that "just worked". For a big name like K&N I expected more. The packaging was ok and I am in favor of spending less money on packaging if the product is cheaper. But for 300€ I expected more. The packaging was very cheap and set the tone for my entire setup. As mentioned, the brackets on the heat shield didn't fit properly and the hose clamp on my filter was too small. The first thing I could reasonably see were variations with MY and trim levels. And the collar too? To be honest, that's just unacceptable. I bought an unnamed cat for this car and it ignited immediately. So why are you really paying more for it? I wouldn't recommend it and it really changed my mind about K&N. If I had to do it again I would choose a smaller name or not take the name for a significantly lower amount. Can't comment on performance as I also did a TB bypass and replaced the VVT solenoid during install but sounds and looks fine. For reference, my car is 08 SE 3.8L.
