When they tell you to have a friend hold the sunroof they are not kidding. I couldn't do it or properly support the sunroof and it collapsed so hard after the initial impact that it shattered my glass. SOOOOOOOO $350.00 later to replace the glass on my sunroof and put in a new shock absorber which was really a no brainer. Just back the hatch up with a board or a friend or two and you'll be fine. There is a small metal clip at each end of the shock absorber. Pry up one side with a flathead screwdriver and it pops right out. The new ones fit right away, but it's a good idea to loosen that little clip a bit so it's a little easier to put on. DONE.
