We ordered this scale for use in our clinic as it works perfectly. This was about 1/3 the price of some of the big brand scales we reviewed. However, the rubber mat that came with the kit smells so bad (outgassing) that we can't use it. [Managers and customers complain of headaches etc.] The carpet has been in the sun for at least a month and it hasn't improved much. Gates. We need to mount it at waist level so that it can be read when the wearer is standing next to the scale with the patient. I had to change it to point up at the person instead of directly at waist level or worse at the floor. This is a large scale and I can only imagine it being used in most applications on the ground so readings need to be taken accordingly. The final complaint is that while we start the scale when plugged in, the display turns off after a few minutes. Then you have to turn it on and go through the startup process again each time. Scale to turn on and then zero before placing your bouncy golden retriever on it.
