Review on πŸ”§ Efficient G5 Disc Brake Assembly: Tie Down Engineering 82091, 10-inch Disc Brake System by Travis Flores

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Installation issues: Disc hardware kits

I installed the same parts about four years ago with no problems. It's time to replace them so I bought four sets for my tandem trailer. The calipers of 2 sets out of 4 did not fit on the bracket slide pins. I contacted Tie Down and an account manager directly. said they didn't make the product they sold to Dexter's store, which still uses the Tie Down brand. A Dexter representative says that when a pin fit condition occurs, the pins or clips are bent to fit. I managed to fit one. I couldn't mount the other one and ended up with the old mount. A Dexter spokesman also said they don't sell through Revain, but through distributors. And finally, the rotor shown in the picture clearly shows the drilled rotor. The rotors are actually solid, not perforated. A Dexter spokesman said again that they stopped making perforated rotors three or four years ago. For what you get, the product is expensive compared to other brands.

Pros
  • GalvX steel hub with stainless steel rotor assembly
Cons
  • Expensive
