Fitment required for replacement parts

Nice kit but once installed the 'rotor mount' needs to be bent (with a pipe or crescent wrench) to allow the caliper to slide freely. Exhaust valve caps are not included.

Pros
  • Ready for drum brake retrofit or new installation
Cons
  • Replacement available

Stainless discs in the braking system

Seems like a much better idea than the unattainable steel drums. You will need flexible brake hoses and a reverse lock solenoid/actuator if these are not part of the existing system. So far this year it's going really well.

Pros
  • Aluminum calipers
Cons
  • Some little things

I ordered a couple of these and one had a .

I ordered a pair of these and one of them had a bent caliper bracket right out of the box. Alignment is a bit critical in this part. I tried setting it up on a vise and using it. Let's see if it lasts.

Pros
  • Bronze Piston
Cons
  • Operating Speed

Good Saltwater Brakes

I've had these brakes on my saltwater trailer for 8 years. 1000 km per year on average. The durability is better than other brands. 2 complaints about the installation. The slide guide pins on 2 of the 4 brackets were mounted to the rear. Had to be properly removed and re-loctite. I also had to bend the 3 guide pin mounts a bit to get a smooth alignment with the caliper. I think the only way to get good permanent alignment is with a molded guide pin brace. These are stamped.

Pros
  • Assembled and pre-lubricated complete with bearings and seals
Cons
  • Zweifel

Installation issues: Disc hardware kits

I installed the same parts about four years ago with no problems. It's time to replace them so I bought four sets for my tandem trailer. The calipers of 2 sets out of 4 did not fit on the bracket slide pins. I contacted Tie Down and an account manager directly. said they didn't make the product they sold to Dexter's store, which still uses the Tie Down brand. A Dexter representative says that when a pin fit condition occurs, the pins or clips are bent to fit. I managed to fit one. I couldn't…

  • GalvX steel hub with stainless steel rotor assembly
Cons
