I couldn't find a cable that says it works with the Acura MDX. Apparently nobody has connected a brake controller to it yet. After comparing the pigtail wire that came with the factory Acura hitch to the photos of this Honda Pilot wiring harness adapter, I decided to give it a try. Worst case I would cut the cables and fasten them properly. Good news: everything works fine. To my delight, the connector fits the Acura adapter exactly. I also matched the wires and they are exactly how I would solder them. I can now tow my 18ft car trailer and control the brakes with the Prodigy brake controller. A small vague caveat: sometimes my brake controller shows ".nc". (not plugged in) intermittently after I plugged in the trailer. It seems to go away after I hit the brakes once. So I'm wondering if Acura's internals do something weird with schema initialization. Anyway, it works fine when I need it. It cannot be an adapter as it is a straight plug properly connected.
