I love working on my cars and machines. Assembly, repair, failure and re-repair. The opportunity presented itself pretty quickly and I jumped at the brake repair on my GMC Acadia for the first time. I've done brakes on my other cars with a Lowes "C" yoke for less than $10. I've used "C" clamps before, they work well and are pretty cheap, but they're a nuisance when you're working alone. Trust me, it becomes a chore to hold the caliper, place the "C" clamp in the right place, and rotate. Either way, I had to let it go. So I ordered this set. Yes, I actually used it to fix my car's brakes and it was an absolutely "non-irritating" perfect kit for the job. This tool set is made of high quality material and the plastic carrying case is pretty good too. It has all kinds of adapters that fit almost all kinds of cars. You'll probably never use more than two of these. But it's kind of good to have. I didn't have a guide. Brake change tip regarding this tool: (incomplete brake change guide) 1) If you push the pistons while turning the lever, make sure you open the release valve and push the piston slowly to allow the brake fluid/air to escape can. 2) Also make sure you use the correct adapter for your piston, not less, so you don't compress the piston more than it should.
