i have the original petsafe drinkwell fountain if you have not already purchased this brush set please do so. it will save a life. If you've had this fountain for a while, you'll find that it accumulates this thick mucus. It looks like snot, it's very rude. it is made from your pet's saliva. If you have multiple cats, you will see many of them. it gets into hard-to-reach places, for example in the corners of the filter compartment floor. The smallest brush in this set gets everything done with ease. the middle brush cleans the round tube of the original fountain. it removes all the dirt that accumulates there as well. The big brush is honestly too big for my fountain, but I still use it for general cleaning of the fountain (but a sponge can do that too). I would buy it for two smaller brushes. It helps to remove all that nasty dirt easily. I tried to clean it as best as I could and it still didn't work. I wish I had bought it a few months ago. Four stars because I have no idea why they provided a large brush for something this big
