Review on Samsung DVD V2500 VCR DVD Combo by Lonnie Batch

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Outstanding price-performance ratio

I bought this model about a year ago and while I was pleased with the unit I didn't think it was a bargain at the time. But now that you can get it for almost $$$ less than when I bought it, I can only recommend it as an extremely good deal. (Although I'm a little offended that I paid that much at the time. That's life.) The DVD section is excellent. It played everything I crammed into it, including Asian VCDs. The VCR section has good picture and sound, nothing special compared to the DVD of course. It has a very fast rewind. The Memory Stick function is a bit slow. But hey! There is a memory card function! Where else can you find a DVD, VCR and memory card in one device at this price? Another plus is the silent operation. (I don't hear the noise other reviewers have complained about.) And RF out for DVD. The only downsides I've noticed are that the DVD menu selection and Memory Stck playback menu seem slow to respond to commands, and the remote control is a little "busy" with a bunch of buttons, some of which are quite small. is.

Pros
  • signal-to-noise ratio 120 dB; 100dB audio dynamic range
Cons
  • No automatic
