If you don't want this to light up when the engine is off read this: you need to hook up a relay switch for light bars etc. Connect mass, of course to ground. Battery positive to battery positive on the relay, thread the 3rd pin on the relay, which you will ignore, through the cannon and remove. Now at the switch, run this 3rd wire to the internal fuse box and plug it into the fuse, which turns on and off when the ignition is switched on. BUT if you do this you won't be able to use the lights connected to the switch unless the car is running as the circuit won't close.
