For years I used a simple tire inflation pump that plugged into the car's cigarette socket. It worked, but was tedious to use: the dial was difficult to read due to a lack of backlighting and parallax, it was awkward to hold the phone if I forgot to bring my headlamp. I often had to calibrate it with a second gauge/tire bleeder to get the correct pressure. Moving from left to right meant the sensor traversed the interior of the car and then made a lap while listening to the roar of the engine and inhaling the exhaust fumes. Watching the impeller means crouching down, reducing visibility and safety. At around 2x the suggested retail price, this inflation pump solves all of those problems, it's amazing! Tire pressure is often neglected. If you like micromanaging your tires, you should get this battery-powered air compressor. Benefits: - Don't drain your car battery - Don't waste fuel and breathe in exhaust fumes - Don't face cost and/or lack of time at a public station - Preset pressure: Don't waste extra time with manual calibration, increase it Your safety and comfort by standing upright and not following the sensor - Handy flashlight and screen backlight for use in the dark - Pretty fast. Adds 0.5psi to my 185 65R15 tires every few seconds. General Comments: - Pumps about 1psi higher than my gauge. (Set at 42psi, pump stops when screen reads 42.5 or 42.0, hand gauge reads 43psi - Connection between hose and pump gets hot after use (this is mentioned in the manual) - A bit noisy like most air compressors - If you deform or twist the cable significantly, it may stop inflating sooner, so be sure to check the pressure reading before disconnecting. In my limited experience, +0 or +0.5 means it's done its job. - The icon button changes the unit of measurement.-Has attachments and the ability to inflate various things-2000 mAh is enough for frequent tire inflation and provides enough cushion for the ability to decompose in a hot car-Tyre pressure is measured with a resolution of 0.5 psi displayed Cons: - USB port would be better than round 12V port (includes charger and cigarette lighter port charger) - A non-plug charging port is likely not very waterproof if you leave it on snowy ground for example. All in all, this is an awesome design that solves pretty much every problem people have. with tire pumps and I can only recommend it.
