Review on AM BRAND Threaded Bulkhead Pack by Sean Bouchard

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works very well for its intended purpose (aquariums/hydroponics/etc.). More than that.?

They work well in situations where they won't be shaken. If you use them in an aquarium, great. They will work very well for you. If you plan on using them to craft rain barrels, they MIGHT work for you. The problem is in the bulkhead nut. The plastic bulkhead nut may spring back, loosen and leak if shaken/hit/slapped/slapped/stared etc too hard. Now this CAN be fixed, and usually quickly (just tighten the nut), but in the meantime there will be some leakage. As this is beyond what these bulkheads are actually designed for I have not given them 1 star or torn them up in a review. This is just to let others know who are looking for an inexpensive way to make water pump barrels or similar. A brass version of these bulkheads is available which may serve this purpose a little better. (RAINPAL F075LFRH Brass 3/4" Female Tank Bulkhead Fitting (Lead Free Compatible, Right Nut) (6)) In short, if you plan on using them in a permanent fixture, this is something you don't plan on doing. If For example, if you use them in a 55 gallon drum that is in the back of your truck and a piece of wood hits it, you may see a water leak.

Pros
  • Bulkhead fittings
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
