Used to rebuild a 2006 Nissan 9.8 (Tohatsu) 4-stroke. Parts looked the same and in general "came up". After putting it together and putting it back to work, it leaked really bad. I have accumulated fuel in the hull. I ended up disassembling the carburetor and putting back the old needle and float bowl gasket to stop the leaks. Too bad I disassembled the carburetor and cleaned it without a kit. Not a single detail was required to make it work. Like many others, I wanted "new" parts to make sure the job was as good as it could be. As a result, they added extra work and cost me more. Anyway, this is my experience.
