So yes it is high but there is a big issue with product compatibility. I'll try to explain it as best as I can. I planned on taking my Garmin 510 off my Garmin "external bike mount" from time to time and replacing it with a new 920XT for certain Du/Tri situations. But for most applications I wanted to use the more prominent 510. So, assuming both Garmin computers are interchangeable on a Garmin mount, I bought this quick release kit (again, all Garmin products). After installing the quick release kit on the 920XT, I noticed that the two "fins" on the back of the watch are rotated 90 degrees compared to the same locking mechanism molded on the back of the 510. A hex key is required for removal. Disc in the center of the Garmin mount. Then you need to rotate the hard drive and replace the Allen screws to replace the computers. So, yes, both Garmin computers are technically interchangeable on a Garmin mount, but it's just a big test. disappointment :(
