I had a previous model and while it was a good deal it had issues. This one solves these problems: consistency and the ability to toggle tilt on and off and still get an "aim lock". I have had many rangefinders over the years and for the price this is by far the best value. There are two small things I would change: the strap is tricky to attach to the range finder, but it doesn't matter since you'll only be doing it once; The focus rotates too easily so it has to be readjusted every time I take it out of the case. I suggest, but have never seen a lock or slightly tighter setting on a rangefinder. They're both minor and shouldn't be put off as they don't detract from the overall performance, which I'd bet against any other rangefinder.
