I bought for yellow plugs and used 12 AWG stranded wire. I lost a few connectors because the wires were loose and just came off and I used the right crimping tool. I had to tin the wires to hold them in place. The metal around the wire is very thin. There were also issues with the connectors twisting inside the plastic protector, making it difficult to connect them together. In any case, avoid poor quality connections.
