Review on πŸ’» Thunderbolt Dock Plus Cable F4U109TT by Belkin - 4K Compatible by Joshua Tezzy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Massive power. - my new rating

Belkin has a solid offering for those switching connectivity to thin laptops, traditional or 2-in-1s, with this docking station. Perhaps the most important feature of this dock is the massive 135W power adapter, which should cover most (if not all) laptops with a unified Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) port. My laptop uses quite a bit of power, and the need for 60W to charge is worth the Belkin docking grin. Connecting two 4K displays isn't a problem either, as long as you can use the DisplayPort outputs and don't need HDMI. The last docking station is not provided. Of course, many budget laptops don't do well with dual 4K displays, but if your PC can do it, the Belkin Dock will work for you too. There is no shortage of USB ports. So you end up turning a Thunderbolt 3 port (on your laptop) into display ports, an Ethernet port, and two each of USB-A and USB-C ports. This should satisfy most needs and is very commendable. What's missing, along with HDMI outs, is an Emory card reader of any kind. Personally, I'd like a CF card slot and the ubiquitous SD port, but this unit doesn't have them. This is clearly not a travel device, but more of a home base for street fighters who need a little more home base. Portability is a strong argument in favor of the tendency to reduce the number of orifices as the razor's size and weight are reduced. The docking station is a good compromise, although the USB-C format isn't as convenient as the dedicated docking stations that a laptop typically just sits on. The design is a pleasing combination of different surfaces. It's slim and discreet so you won't get bored after weeks or months.

Pros
  • Its slim design makes it easy to transport
Cons
  • long time
