This is nothing compared to my $5000 dual Olympus microscope that I use in my work as a pathologist and I didn't expect it to be like this. For the money this is a pretty decent microscope. The lens and eyepiece lenses are of sufficient quality that what is seen through the scope has decent resolution with a 40x lens. I haven't tried oil immersion yet. The condenser isn't bad, with almost no edge artifacts or tissue refraction artifacts. The light through the condenser is slightly off center and as far as I can tell this cannot be adjusted. The light is normal, it would be better if it was brighter. Will I use this to diagnose patients? no But that's more than enough for students or basic microscope work.
