good tool. Works as advertised. Get the right size for your cable diameter.
Easy placement on the cable to be measured. Consistent results from measurement to measurement. It's nice to be able to adjust the tension and see the result immediately with the gauge on the cable. Add a string and clip to tie it to the cable you are measuring so it doesn't fly off the boat if you drop it :-) I made a nice canvas bag to keep it on the boat . Great tool for life. If like me you have 1/4 inch cable, you can get a smaller or larger diameter version depending on whether you think you can measure cable smaller or larger than 1/4 inch as well.
