Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Zyliss 31380 - ZYLISS Utility Paring Knife with Sheath Cover, 5.5-Inch Stainless Steel Blade, Purple by Chris Cervantes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bought several of these knives.

We purchased a ZYLISS 3 3/4 inch Serrated Stainless Steel Paring Knife, Red, from Revain.com Services LLC for $8.32. In fact, I've purchased this particular knife twice over the course of several months as detailed below. Also have purchased a ZYLISS paring knife with sheath, 3.5" stainless steel blade, green, from the same seller 3 times over a period of about 5 years. This is an excellent knife. We have purchased 2 knives of this style from this brand and have had ours Loved the green non-serrated paring knife so much that we wanted the red one too. I know. it's a knife. But with kids it's better to have a small sliding cover. In addition, this is a really high-quality knife. After about 5 years went our green knife ended up breaking so we bought both to replace and add.I washed it a month later when I noticed the sponge was stuck to it.It had so many serrations I thought the knife was rusty .I was very upset and was about to leave a negative review when I just knew it couldn't be, asked my junior if he used knives and of course he told me d as he did and "knives fought". I'm amazed he didn't hurt himself or get splinters in his eyes, but rest assured the repeated clashing of knives throughout the fight will destroy him. It's pretty reasonable, so I'll let that slide. However, I had to order another set to replace it. So basically we have now bought 5 knives from Zlyiss for about 5-6 years and with their quality and enjoyment we are happy with this brand how long they stay sharp (if you care) and don't rust. .I have seen many people complaining about rust. We haven't had this problem, but we wash this knife by hand and not in the dishwasher. We've also noticed recently that a lot of our new butter knives are rusting in the dishwasher, so we're no longer putting them in the dishwasher and are now hand washing them as well. I have never washed my sharp knives in the dishwasher so I don't know if rusting is a new phenomenon for others and they have started using cheaper metal, poor manufacturing methods etc as can be seen with butter knives. . I can only comment on my experience with the knife and how I use it. It's possible that this is a disadvantage, so keep this in mind if you decide to clean your knives in the dishwasher.
