I've been sharpening knives for a few years, but I've never been good at it. At times I could get hair with sharp edges, but I wasn't consistent. I tried a sharpening system that is pressed against the blade with special sharpening stones. It was a pain to set up and quite expensive. It was used once. This simple and inexpensive solution works great! After darkening the edge with a marker and using a guide, it became clear that my sharpening angle was very different. A little work with the guide and the two blades I sharpened came out right the first time. I would like to see a series of guides for large angles. Update: My EDC, the Izula II, cuts cardboard like it's almost gone. Today. I used to be happy with the sharpness. Now it just slides. I have sharpened two kitchen knives with excellent results. I used to be so afraid of ruining the knife.
