These are really two different products. You seem to be the first time in this combination product. The fan is good. During the stress test, the Pi4 ran at 2 GHz and the temperature never exceeded 50 °C. It has been in the 46-48C range for a long time. Without a cover, the temperature is about 3-4 °C lower. In idle time the temperature inside the case is 34-37C. I would buy a fan if I had to do it again. The case appears to have been designed by a Chinese basket maker (get it? basket!). The supplied assembly instructions do not apply to assembly and installation in the chassis. The design is just incredibly bad. You have to see to believe. Other people have commented on this. I had additional, more suitable mounting hardware in the litter box and was able to complete the build. It's not very pretty. I don't use an SD card in my Pi. If you need to access the SD card, you'll probably need a tool (like tweezers). Alternatively, you have to remove the top case (8 screws). One good thing: the product comes with an optional low-profile fan. The optional fan does not have an LED light show. Some people might prefer a less exciting package.
