Although I was smart to discover this BEFORE ordering (because I usually wait until I read carefully after ordering). BUT, if I had to do it again, I would order without the valve. I use them to carry a tray or two to my CD player closet when planning a listening station. The disadvantage here is of course that if you move too quickly, the lid will fall down and all the CDs will fall to the floor. I would go for a moveable lid if you plan on keeping these trays on the shelf. Don't plan on stacking about 4 pieces high or there will be enough sag to prevent the small doors from opening.
