This fan has only one setting and no switch. It is either connected and powered on or disconnected and powered off. Also, it turns itself off every few minutes and needs to be woken up again. Very strange and uncomfortable for my daughter who wished it would help her sleep better. The clip isn't strong enough to support the weight of the fan and slips off when placed on a vertical surface (my daughter clipped it to the edge of one of the dresser drawers and it fell off a few times).
