I love this item. I used to use a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter, but the port got so hot I barely used it. But this adapter has solved that problem and offers a lot more bang for your buck. It almost never gets hot, and on a single USB computer it's great to have more USB ports available. Everything works great and the Ethernet is just as fast as with a Thunderbolt adapter. This is a great little guy for your laptop. EDIT 11/18/2019 After almost two months of using this device, it started randomly disconnecting and reconnecting to my computer. It works for a while, then fails multiple times in a row for a minute or so. I really liked this adapter so I'm disappointed. I will look for better options.
