Constant connection problems. The plug fits freely into the laptop port, so the slightest movement will disconnect everything connected, including the LAN connection. It takes 50 to 60 seconds to actually connect to the internet (sometimes not at all). I know this is a defective item because I am using a different port and have immediate access. One of the worst buys ever. You get what you pay for but I have bought other hubs at this price and they have worked.

Laptops continue to shrink as I/O ports dwindle and internal components disappear. I needed a way to create a kind of docking station that connects my printer, scanner, mouse and the internet. Lo and behold, this single USB dongle had it all. The only downside for me is that the cord is only an inch shorter so I can hide it somewhere safe. I made a cardboard stand to make a poor man's dock. :)

I love this item. I used to use a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter, but the port got so hot I barely used it. But this adapter has solved that problem and offers a lot more bang for your buck. It almost never gets hot, and on a single USB computer it's great to have more USB ports available. Everything works great and the Ethernet is just as fast as with a Thunderbolt adapter. It worked well with my 2015 Macbook Pro, which worried me when I discovered it. I was able to use my ethernet, which I needed to play with a bandmate in real time on the JamKazam, with no lag, and 3 USB hubs handled my interface and other essential devices I use at the same time without sacrificing performance. The device WORKS. It's nifty and flexible, as long as you have a USB Type-A input, a 3-port hub, and Ethernet. For Windows users. Have this driver diskette ready. The installed automatic driver is a bit questionable. The one on the hard drive worked for me. Linux users, rejoice. It is read immediately, with kernel 4.x. Yes, all USB ports including Eth. it reads like a RealTek chipset. Miscellaneous. Phew, pump. The device will NOT work on Wii or WiiU. Not tested on consoles with native ethernet
