I really liked the viewfinder, it is very informative and the picture in it is nicer than in younger DSLRs. In addition, there are nice bonuses such as fine-tuning autofocus and AutoFP, the D3x00 and D5x00 unfortunately do not have these features. With the FTZ adapter, all the old AF-S Nikkor lenses worked without any problems, even AF adjustment was not required. There are a couple of drawbacks, though not very significant for me, this is the battery life and the need to purchase a new remote control, the old wired one from 5x00, alas, will not work.
