Review on πŸ§‡ Cuisinart Vertical Waffle Maker - Effortlessly Make Silver and Savory Waffles! by Christine Bryant

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A happy husband loves his waffles.

I'm hesitant to give 5 stars as this is my first time using the waffle maker tonight, but my experience has been great. I think I'll update this later and change the star rating if needed. Made 3 waffles today. The first time I thought my batter was runny and I used the #3 setting recommended in the owner's manual. Shot #3 wasn't clear enough, so I made a different one. We put on number 4 and increase the dough. Oops, too fat! The dough only advanced an inch, so drop it! Nice for the third time. I adjusted the batter and got a much better result, golden brown and fluffy inside. I'll try setting #5 again because we like crispy waffles and see what happens. So I learned not to make the batter too thick and figure out what setting suits my taste. Also the cup used to fill the kettle gives the absolutely perfect amount to use. Don't overfill, the waffles will look ugly and you don't have to. The rims are fitted so excess stays on top if you ignore the mug and overfill it. Experiment the first few times to find the right consistency for your taste. This is one such improvement over the horizontal waffle maker that is hard not to overflow. The best waffle maker I've ever had. I would like to donate one. Pros: Very easy to use. Set the desired readiness level and wait for the green indicator. Fill the kettle with the filling cup. Wait for the beep. Eat your lucky cone. It's so easy to clean. Use a damp cloth to wipe thoroughly. I used a brush to remove some crumbs from between the waffles and it worked really well. The vertical design allows gravity to fill plates evenly, while the filling cup takes the guesswork out of making the perfect waffle. The waffle can be easily removed from the plates with non-stick tongs. So you don't have to use non-stick spray. The waffles are really Belgian waffles. Thick, with deep indentations to hold plenty of melted butter and syrup. It ends pretty quickly. About 3 minutes for a dark, crispy waffle. The timer indicators are large and easy to see, and the ready signals are loud enough to be heard when you move to a different location. A permanent design is easier to store (at least in my kitchen as I have limited shelf space). Great product at a great price. Cons: If there are flaws, I don't see them so far. If anything changes I'll let you know. However, you should pay attention to the operating instructions. The front/back and sides of the disc become hot on the outside. Remember to only touch the clip on the top next to the funnel when opening or closing the coffee maker. After you are done with the maker you MUST set the setting to 1 and turn it off. It doesn't cool down quickly, so be careful when handling it. Set it aside where you won't accidentally touch it. You want that happy waffle feel to last, so avoid mistakes.
