I bought this mic for class recording when classes resume in the fall. I teach a lot online so I already have a Blue Snowball mic which I really like. I ran three audio tests.1. my blue snow Snowball is my base level. This mic sounds amazing.2. This microphone is in front of me. The difference in quality is noticeable, but not critical. It is better than the webcam's built-in microphone. For most people, that's fine. The product does exactly what it was designed to do.3. This microphone sits behind my computer chair with the cable fully extended. I'm still talking to my computer. Of course I try to push the microphone to its limits. There was a noticeable drop in quality, but I can still understand myself. This is what I want. This microphone passes my test. I needed something that was good quality, quiet, and would work for me even when I was working against it.
