Worked like a champ for a 20 year old fan. She liked the fan and we couldn't find a similar replacement. The fan ran very slowly at high speed so I replaced the condenser and remote control kit. Now you can hear a click from the fan every time you press the button on the remote control. I suspect it is the capacitor. Actually, I prefer clicking because I know the click of the button has been registered. Press the button, hear the click, know the button press was received. After replacing the condenser and remote control kit, I found that the manual setting might NOT be at a high level, which could explain the initial problem. So make sure the fan is set to high manually before troubleshooting a slow fan issue. She still wanted a new remote control.
