This remote control is a standard IR pulser with an external converter cover that acts as a wired remote control for the SD-20M. The transparent plastic battery insulator must be removed to power the remote control. With the converter installed (around the IR remote) you can't see the tiny plastic tab in the battery cover, so you may think you have a bad device. It got me. Old age creeps up on me -
