Easy to use wired remote control.

A very handy way to start and stop recording when mounting the DR-40 on top of a video tripod to capture sound over a crowd at an event.

Pros
  • Nice Look
Cons
  • Bad Impression

Great for controlling my DR-40

I record voiceovers on my DR-40 and this remote comes in handy for controlling the voice recorder. It took me a few seconds to figure out how the remote fits into the mount (plug the LED end of the remote into the cable end of the mount; the LED output is converted to instructions to be sent down the cable to the recorder) . ).

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Good but not great

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Don't overlook that.

This remote control is a standard IR impulse unit with an external converter cover that can be used as a wired remote control for the SD-20M. The transparent plastic battery insulator must be removed to power the remote control. With the converter installed (around the IR remote) you can't see the tiny plastic tab in the battery cover, so you may think you have a bad device. It got me. Old age creeps up on me -

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Wired Remote Control for Tascam DR-70D Recorder

Works well with Tascam DR-70D recorder that requires a wired remote control. In fact, this is an IR module that is inserted into the bracket. There is a belt clip on the holder. The bottom hinges open to allow the IR module to slide in, and the hinges snap to secure the IR module inside. The IR module is powered by its own CR2025 battery. The belt clip adapter has some sort of IR receiver inside that converts the IR into wired pulses. The converter is powered by a DR-70D 3/32" stereo mini-jack.

Pros
  • CR2025 Lithium battery powered for wireless mode
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous
