Bought for use with my MacBook Air. The current software for me is High Sierra and this optical drive doesn't seem to want to work with it. It showed no visible damage upon arrival. Plugged into my USB-C port and the drive is recognized. When I insert a CD or DVD, I even see the name of the inserted disc. Then the viewer comes up and says it's not allowed, and then another window pops up asking me to select my region. Region 1 is what all my discs were written for and is the default setting for the disc, but it still doesn't play anything. Have tried multiple discs with the same result. Restarted my Macbook as instructed in the user manual that was emailed to me and that didn't help either. Contacted support via email and never got a reply so I'm now sending it back for a refund.
