A good product that could have been a great product

This is a great idea that fell a bit short in execution. With a few relatively minor modifications, this could be a great product. First, there must be some type of gasket/washer between the base valve assembly and the stein adapter and a thicker washer between the adapter and the stein. And so the whole assembly flows like a sieve. The only way to stop the leak was to tighten the adapter to the point where it snaps and then it won't loosen until I can remove the entire assembly from the fermenter and soak in very hot water until he dissolves. I was able to seal the leak between the base valve assembly and the steinglas adapter with a 1-15/16" o-ring, and the Oster blender's o-ring seems to secure the steinglas adapter to the glass leak, but still includes a couple of washers that would have been useful helped a lot. Second, the 3/4" fitting at the bottom of the cone should be larger, say 1" to 1-1/2". 3/4" clogs up fairly easily and fills the yeast container with sediment, which cannot be removed. See first point. Overall I like the fermenter. right size. Once I've sorted out the bottom build flaws this should be mitigated greatly small If you think about it a good fermenter could make a great fermenter Leak test just completed 1-15/16 The o-ring and o-ring on the Oster blender shine doing a good job of stopping leaks while still allowing the adapter to be removed and replaced and using a leak-free mason jar container assembly, at least with water. I will update this review. I tried a different batch of moonshine once to see how it worked with spice.
