Really nice material. Smooth. Solid. Perfect weight. Good thickness. A tad small in terms of diameter, for my taste. Thickness is good. They come with adhesive felt stickers so they don't scratch your board. But our board has a leather-like material so it wasn't necessary. Plus, with the felt, the pieces seem a little tall. We have an antique wooded game table and my wife wanted some nice pieces for backgammon and/or checkers - not plastic junk. These fit the bill. And one side has circular decorations; the bottom is flat and smooth. We found the sat well on our board. Very happy with this purchase.
