Review on 📺 Terk VR1 Auto TV Volume Control by Alfred Friedrich

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very satisfied, there is none.

I originally bought a version of this device called Audiovox from another vendor. I was so happy with this I searched for another on Revain.com and found the Terk VR1 to be the same as the Audiovox so I bought it under the Terk VR1 name. It was identical to my Audiovox and it was in fact an Audiovox as it says on the box. I've bought 3 of these so far. I didn't hear the pops when adjusting the volume that others have reported. It could be a factor other than the Audiovox Terk VR1 itself that's giving them trouble. The first Audiovox I bought from another seller didn't advertise the connection type. This Revain listing mentions RCA jacks but doesn't mention that those are the only audio connections. This Audiovox Terk VR1 uses left and right RCA audio jacks for input and output. Other audio connections are not supported. A set of dual RCA cables is included. If you have an HDMI cable that provides audio you will either need to get an HDMI cable without audio and only use RCA connectors or like in my case I had a regular HDMI cable that provides audio to my HDTV and then to my HDTV headphone stereo provided the mini jack powers my soundbar and now the HDTV stereo headphone mini jack feeds my audio VoX which then powers my soundbar. My HDTV headphone jack is a stereo mini jack output and my soundbar has RCA input jacks, so I have a cable with a stereo mini headphone jack on one end and two RCA connectors on the other end. ). The most important thing to know is that you must be able to route audio through a pair of RCA jacks for this to work. If you cannot receive audio through the RCA jack then this device will not work for you or you will need adapters to convert it to Audiovox RCA input and from Audiovox RCA output to your audio input connection. If so, when purchasing an Audiovox device you can also purchase the correct input and output conversion adapters to make this work with your system. I wish I had this information before I bought mine. , but as it turns out I was lucky enough to be able to get it working with my RCA connectors without even knowing the nature of the input and output connections. But now you know, so the mystery is solved for you. There is also 1 AC power adapter that supplies DC power to the device. It has a selector switch in the "on" position. (Tone control) or "Bypass” for the original sound. ) This mode works great by boosting softer sounds that are difficult to hear and reducing loud sounds to a normal range of natural lows and highs that you can hear without knocking out. I have hearing problems, so I now hear whispers along with normal speech on TV programs with this device. Bypass lets you watch movies with original sounds and explosions as if you are not using this device. controls noise to a normal range at its best, but does the job well enough for anyone to be happy with the results. Especially if there aren't explosive ads that force you to constantly turn the volume down and back up when it dies. I'm personally very happy with the quality of the tone controls and I think you will be happy with it too. I thought the FCC would change their rules to reduce commercial noise. For a while they turned down the volume of the ads so I uninstalled my Audiovox but later I noticed the ads got too loud again. From this date I use my Audiovox again because the ads have exhausted me. I also added a boosted soundbar and while that was nice, the difference in volume was greatly increased to the point that the ads were unbearable. This device works great with my soundbar, makes my listening more comfortable and doesn't hurt my ears like without it. So I highly recommend this device. I hope you find this review helpful.

Pros
  • Compatible with any AV device with RCA connectors.

  • I don't remember.
