Waste of money

Okay so I bought them because they turned out to be better quality than some of the cheap paper blinds. Unfortunately I was wrong. I ordered them back in June but haven't put them up to this day for various reasons. I followed the guide, which is pretty flimsy and doesn't have a lot of illustrations. It means using a plastic cut guard, aligning to desired width after measuring the window, then trimming with a sharp kitchen knife. This is similar to previous blinds that I have ordered and have had no problems with. I am a 210 lb athletic male and I could. no Cut. through this thing. The top and bottom have a very thick plastic (more metal!) edge that compresses the paper blinds and trying to cut through that material with a knife was almost impossible. I've attached photos so you can see the final result. The plastic guard is NOT dimensionally stable and leaves a large gap that only makes cutting difficult. As I struggled to get the knife to cut through the outer panel, a slit in the plastic guard caused the knife to cut at an angle. When I finally got to the plastic top/bottom, the plastic didn't come off at the right angle - it ended up cracking and chipping as you can see in the picture. I don't know if I received a defective one or what but this is one of the most disappointing things I have ever ordered from Revain and a very disappointing experience. Because I waited too long it's non-refundable so I might as well throw $30 in the trash. NO. TO BUY.
