The quality of the caps themselves is exactly what I expected. Based on the description, I suspected they were metric, even though the title specifically lists several standard sizes in fractions of an inch. Here's what I found after fitting them to the ends of open ended studs on a chain link fence: 3/4" - I don't know, I didn't have a 3/4" stud to test with 5/8" - fits but will fit slightly looser than ideal 1/2" - very tight fit but I was able to adjust it to 3/8" - perfect fit 1/4" - too small impossible to hit the 1/4" screw
