I looked at other egg white separators and thought this would work best for my needs. I know other people felt like the yolk slipped out of the slots, but if you use a large egg, or an extra very large egg, the yolk stays in place. I've used it with both cold chilled and room temperature eggs and find the colder the better when it comes to separation. You may need to use the tip of a knife or spoon to "encourage" the egg whites to fall into the bowl, but that's not a problem for me. It has slots to fit on the rim of a bowl or mug. Easy to clean (by hand or in the top rack of the dishwasher). Small enough to fit in one of the kitchen drawers.
