OXO Good Grips Separator White Review

I looked at other egg white separators and thought this would work best for my needs. I know other people felt like the yolk slipped out of the slots, but if you use a large egg, or an extra very large egg, the yolk stays in place. I've used it with both cold chilled and room temperature eggs and find the colder the better when it comes to separation. This item is so poorly designed I'm surprised it was made by OXO. The yolk and white simply slide out of the side slots. It doesn't matter if you use giant giant eggs or small quail eggs, they all pop out of the side slots. There is no separation, the yolk slips almost every time. In the kitchen, patience when cooking is not my forte. This works well, but the albumen seems to hang through the holes for ages before separating. I take a fork or other handy weapon of mass destruction and "help" scrape the dangling protein off the separator to speed up the process. If you usually separate 3 eggs and use a bowl big enough to hold 3 of those things, they're cheap enough. You might consider buying 3, put an egg in them, come back in 5 minutes and maybe the Newton-Einstein waves

All my other OXO products are more useful because of their thoughtful design.
