Review on Irwin Tools 4935586 Multi Tool Screwdriver by Chris Pettway

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My first Irwin product.

This is my first Irwin tool in 51 years. tool ownership. In 1968, when I was 16, my father gave my brother [who was 19 at the time] and I each a Craftsman tool box, a crescent wrench, a hammer, and I may have received a short Craftsman screwdriver for Christmas. I still have the tool box and it is in excellent condition, all the tools have disappeared over the years. I have to replace her. Unfortunately champions from 50 years. ago is not the master of this 3rd millennium. Like irwin, Black & Decker, Stanley, Jaetjei, Fastpro and Workpro they are all made in China, although I believe Stanley still has a factory in Tennessee [10-EC ;-)]. I love the thick handle on this Irwin Shorty. I struggled to remove the cap. Remember that you should be looking straight at the cap, all the way down and then at the ledge that goes through it and just twist it. The whole yellow part of the screwdriver doesn't just come loose from that tiny cap. Do not tighten! The 3 Torq/Star bits are useless to me because I have nothing to fix what they are for. I just removed all of these bits and now I can remove the other 4 bits without pliers. The bits are pressed together, making it impossible to remove the bits without pliers. If you need Torq/Star bits, hold a pair of pliers near this screwdriver to remove the bits from the cap. Not bad for $7. I keep it in the kitchen drawer "Things" [If it's mine, it's stuff; if it's yours, it's junk. lol] along with batteries, scissors etc. Best regards and god bless you.
