Review on πŸ”΄ Lakewood 15000 Safety Bellhousing in Vibrant Red - Optimal Protection by Paul Zimmer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Big Bell: Parts

There is no comparison between a standard GM aluminum block for safety and a pilot bearing centered with a transmission input shaft. Lakewood was at .003, which is almost perfect, but GM's bell was at .020, which would have destroyed a new transmission after a few hundred miles. Sure, you can get misaligned block pins and solve the runout problem, but you still have a spinning clutch spinning at 6000 RPM inches from your feet! NHRA mandates the use of certified diffuser screens such as Lakewood on dragstrips to protect riders' legs and lives. For my money it's cheap insurance and peace of mind.
