The packaging on this product is poor quality at best. The rings are enclosed in a transparent plastic bag which is then placed in a box and taped over with brown paper. The rings overlap and this causes them to twist. This twist is inserted into the ring and prevents them from sitting flat. This then creates a gap under the ring through which the egg or batter can escape. Rings should be placed in their own box with internal support to keep them flat and regular. I was able to achieve most of the twist by turning them over and then dunking them in boiling water. I then removed them with tongs, let them cool and flipped them over. Once cool, I flipped them, pulling and stretching them to reduce the stress of twisting. It worked for three out of four. One was twisted so badly that he could not sit up straight even after cycling 5 times with hot water. I really don't think anyone needs to do this to get a working product. Not recommended unless you enjoy playing with boiling water.
