Review on WELLAX Ultralight Air Sleeping Pad: The Ultimate Inflatable Mattress For Backpacking, Traveling & Camping! by Sean Sitton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality! for my opinion

First of all, this is a company with a sense of humor. They like puns.Does that upset you? Hey, just Wellax (nyuk, nyuk!).Seriously, this little mattress is holding up great so far. I've gone through countless larger air mattresses. The big, thick, queen-size ones like you buy at department stores for car-camping and such. Those always leak after a week or so.This one is very small by comparison, and not very thick. That means you can roll it up and carry it with you if you're backpacking!I weigh around three-hundred pounds at the time of this review, and this mat has held up to my weight like a champ! No leaks; no problems. That being said, this is the limit for the mat, and what happens is I can feel the ground at pressure points. It's not enough to make me uncomfortable, because the mat smoothes things out, but if you're concerned and weigh about the same, I would recommend one of those ultralight foam pads under this. About one inch, or an inch and a half of foam should eliminate any contact at pressure points. I have used this combination and slept as comfortably as in a full sized bed.I plan to try the Wellax mat with a hammock as well. This mat is great for tall folks, but a little narrow. It would not bother me if it was a couple inches shorter and wider, but it's O.K.It takes me between sixteen & twenty breaths to inflate from totally flat, which is nothing compared to those car-camper mattresses!I do recommend rolling it up from the end farthest from the valve to remove air, then unrolling before folding and rolling again to pack in it's bag for travel. There is a little repair kit hiding at the bottom of the bag, so be careful not to lose that, just in case.I have been very happy with this little mat so far, after about a month of use. Good quality, very durable, quiet when you move around on it, not too slippery, and supports a lot of weight!

Pros
  • Comes with a carrying case for convenient storage and transportation
Cons
  • The warranty may be limited compared to other camping mattresses on the market
