Before you buy a bread knife, you should be clear about what it is used for.
I love long, serrated and sharp knives. I bought it based on the reviews but when I received it I realized it was for specific purposes only. I don't eat bread so I won't use it for slicing bread but it does fine. I found it GREAT for slicing through thick rinds of melons. It easily penetrates melon, honeydew and watermelon rinds. I also use it for butchering raw fish and beef. It's not your everyday kitchen knife, but it can do a lot more than just bread. Ideal for heavy cutting work.
