Review on Pink Mini Maker Embroidery Kit by Leisure Arts: A Perfect Leisurely Craft Activity! by Nicole Mcleod

Not for real beginners

I'm brand new to embroidery. I've never done this before, and I have very little sewing experience. Overall I'm happy with the kit, but there are a few things to be aware of: Cons: You still have to search the internet for how to tie all the different knots and stitches. This pattern requires you to be familiar with French knots, backstitch, satin stitch, and woven wheel stitch. There are no instructions on how to do this, and you'll have to look it up online (although there are plenty of great tutorials on YouTube). Also, the kit comes with a needle, and it's too small to thread even with a needle threader (actually, I broke my needle threader trying to pull the damn thread!). So be ready to buy larger needles for this set. The thread itself generally seems very thick (according to my mother who used to do some embroidery) so some small details are difficult to do. what color and stitch to use. I'm not finished yet, so I can't tell if there are enough threads for the whole pattern. I also think the set would benefit from a larger picture of the finished product for reference.

Pros
  • Nice touch
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
